Proclamation

한국교회는 지난 130년 동안 민족의 고난과 역경을 함께 하며 괄목할만한 영적 성장과 대한민국의 성장과 성숙을 이끄는 중심에 있었으며, 환난과 전쟁 속에서도 민족을 지킬 수 있었던 것에 대하여 큰 자부심과 긍지를 느낍니다.

Korean church has been the centre of the remarkable spiritual growth and the country`s progress even though it has gone through various sufferings and hardships for 130 years. Korean churches are filled with pride that they have defeated themselves from difficulties and wars.

그동안 한국교회는 세계선교 역사상 유례가 없이 짧은 시간에 눈부신 부흥의 역사를 일으켰고, 이는 한국교회가 하나님의 은혜를 받은 것임을 누구도 부인할 수 없습니다. 그러나 현재 WCC(세계교회협의회) 총회 개최를 앞두고 한국교회 안에 불협화음이 일어나고 있는 것에 대하여 우리는 우려를 표명하며 유감으로 생각합니다.

Korean church has achieved great revivals in the history of world mission in a short period of time. This proves that Korean churches are blessed. However, it is unfortunate that disharmony is found among Korean churches before the World Church Council (WCC) in Busan in 2013.

한국기독교회협의회와 한국기독교총연합회는 2013년 WCC 부산 대회를 앞두고, 2013년 WCC 부산 대회 개최에 대한 보수교단의 우려를 불식하기 위하여 아래와 같은 공동선언문을 선언합니다.

To dispel worries about the Council among conservative denominations, the National Council of Churches in Korea and the Christian Council of Korea make a proclamation as follows.

1. 우리는 종교다원주의를 배격합니다.

We, the National Council of Churches in Korea and the Christian Council of Korea, strongly reject of religious pluralism.

1) 우리는 오직 “오직” 예수 그리스도 외에 구원이 없음을 천명 합니다.

We make clear that salvation is only in Jesus Christ

2) 우리는 예배는 “오직” 예수 그리스도만이 구원의 주라고 고백하는 자들만이 (성령으로 말미암아) 드릴 수 있는 행위임을 고백하고, 그러므로 초혼제와 같은 비성경적인 종교혼합주의의 예배 형태와 함께 할 수 없음을 천명합니다.

Since we affirm that only those who confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior worship God in the Holy Spirit, therefore, any unbiblical worship such as a memorial service is impossible to combine with the worship for God.

2. 우리는 공산주의, 인본주의, 동성연애 등 복음에 반하는 모든 사상을 반대합니다.

We oppose any idea that is against the Gospel such as communism, humanism, homosexuality.

3. 우리는 개종(proselitism) 전도 금지 주의에 반대하고 “땅 끝까지 이르러 복음의 증인이되라” (행1:8)는 하나님의 명령에 따라 세대와 지역과 나라와 종교를 막론하고 복음 증거의 사명을 감당할 것을 천명합니다.

We disagree with the prohibition on the evangelism for conversion, but carry out our mission in accordance with God`s command in Act 1:8, “Be witnesses to the ends of the earth.” with regardless of region, nation, and religion.

4. 성경 66권은 하나님의 특별 계시로 무오하며 신앙과 행위의 최종적이고 절대적인 표준임을 천명합니다.

We clarify that the sixty-six books of the Bible are infallible, but definitive and absolute standard of faith and deed

이에 따라 한국기독교총연합회 산하 모든 보수교단은 W.C.C 총회한국준비위원회가 개최하는 2013년 WCC 부산 대회를 이해하며 이 대회가 하나님께 영광돌리기를 바랍니다.

Therefore, all conservative denominations under the Christian Council of Korea understand everything about the World Church Council in Busan this year and we hope that it will be the glory of God.

아울러 한국기독교총연합회와 한국기독교교회협의회는 2014년 WEA(세계복음연맹)총회 역시 성공적인 대회가 될 수 있도록 상호 협력할 것임을 선언합니다.

Additionally, the National Council of Churches in Korea and the Christian Council of Korea proclaim that both will also cooperate for success in the World Evangelical Alliance in 2014.
